Who I am – I am Giovana, a Chilean descendant of Italian immigrants, like many in America. I worked for 10 years in retail as an Industrial Designer. I learned all about mass production processes but always kept an eye on trends through constant travels to fashion capitals.
I wanted to step away from unsustainable mass consumption and focus on inspired and quality design.
2019, a brand is born – I first went through several failed attempts to achieve both the quality standard I desired and comfortable shoe.
2021, roots to a new story – I left everything behind, embarked with what I had, and set out to find shoe producers in Italy, hoping that Italian craftsmanship, expertise and leathers would bring my ideas and designs to life.
On Italian grounds, my ancestors took life, traditions and heritage started to make real sense to me. History repeats itself: Emigrating to seek opportunity, and thinking that there are no limits and no borders for Luciel. Some journeys change everything.
